More
scholarship money is cropping up for students in the Dalhousie University
Faculty of Agriculture. The Nova Scotia
Federation of Agriculture will award three $1,000 scholarships to students with
a connection to the federation who demonstrate an interest in farming.
“We
are excited to be able to double the scholarship award that we will give to
aspiring young farmers of this province,” Chris van den Heuvel, president of
the federation, said in a news release. “These
students are a key part to the future of agriculture, and we want to support
and reward all their hard work to move the industry forward in the future.”
The
allotments will be awarded in the fall scholarship campaign.
“It
is only through community and industry partnerships such as our long-standing
relationship with the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture that we are able to
continue to offer financial support to exceptional students who go on to make
successful contributions to the agricultural industry,” David Gray, agriculture
dean at Dalhousie’s Agricultural Campus in Bible Hill, said in the release.
“We
are so pleased that the members of the NSFA have the foresight to continue to
invest in the future of our industry by investing in our students.”
